Haiku Monday: Chalk

Welcome to Haiku Monday; where, like the last rose of summer, we appear bedraggled and at the end of our days--but it's just because we are resting for the renaissance on the horizon!



This week's theme is "Chalk".
 
 


The Haiku Components:
  •                                                       Three lines:
Five syllables
Seven syllables
Five syllables
 
  • kigo  - the season word, referring to seasons of the year.


 
  • kiregi -  the *cut* word, which refers to the abrupt change between the two meanings or points of view of the poem.
 
  • An image (not a component of regular haiku, but apt images will count towards winner points.)
Please submit two for judging in the comments, and if you have an image, please link to it.  Deadline is midnight, Pacific Time on Monday, October 22.

      Becca,I especially liked your images: the pigmented rainbow and then one simple word on the chalkboard; I also liked your use of "erases".

    The first one isn't the scene I wanted. So I went with my favorite. And the second, well all's I can say is, I understand why the society is crumbling before us

    Per usual, found me a nice, cozy spot smack dab in the gutter and, unable to help ma' damn self, I just HAD to leave my mark:

    Dumper did'ling dog
    Chalky drizzle laid in waste
    'Nother me won't be

    In addition to a visual of wieners on the barbie plump'd from the cook'n, I've writ an ode in your honor with a bit of tongue (?) in my cheek (YUMMY!!). You may wish to skip it, though, as...well...ya' know...it's a might blue...

      Really: can a person ever resist a poem written in her honor? And nothing can beat (pardon the pun) your haiku for "blueness."

    Interesting theme. My first one goes with the visual at http://serendipitouswildmoments.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/haiku-monday-chalk/. The second probably works fine with the imagination of a remembered childhood.

    Chalky streaks on cliffs.
    Rock climbers or falcon nest?
    Watch out — dive bomber!

    Second:

    Chalk lines on sidewalk.
    Multicolor childhood games.
    Careless summers past.
